PLYMOUTH, Mich., Feb. 16, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Even in the best of times, marriage can be challenging with work, parenting, finances and other factors pulling couples in different directions.
NorthRidge Church strives to help strengthen and enrich the marriages of local couples through Small Groups, events and seminars. This Thursday they are hosting the two-day Mark Gungor Live! Seminar. This seminar helps couples deal with marriage in a way that is fun, non-threatening and full of laughter.
"Let's face it, marriages are constantly under stress these days," said NorthRidge Senior Pastor Brad Powell. "They're impacted by internal and external forces that, if left unaddressed, can lead to real problems."
The seminar, which runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, will be held at the church's Plymouth location. Unlike many traditional marriage seminars, Mark Gungor provides an environment that helps couples open up and have fun in the process.
"I love to inspire people's lives with truth and humor," Gungor said. "There are a lot of performers that make people laugh, and there are a lot of speakers who give solid principles for living. I want to do both."
Gungor, senior pastor of Celebration Church in Wisconsin, travels across the country with his message of hope for couples. His theme and message align with many of NorthRidge's core values, Powell said.
"Authentic and loving relationships are essential to spiritual growth and health," he added. "This seminar is a step in the right direction for any couple looking to draw closer."
