A Webinar You Won't Want to Miss

MEDIA ADVISORY, April 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- In today's fast-moving Internet age you could be excused for not being able to define a "Webinar." But the hosts of the award-winning TV program "The Way of the Master"--actor Kirk Cameron and best-selling author Ray Comfort, along with Carl Moeller, the President and CEO of Open Doors USA, will be hosting their first joint Webinar, this coming Thursday. The word is short for a "web-based seminar," and is a presentation, a lecture, a workshop or a seminar that is transmitted over the Internet. One unique feature is its interactive elements -- it has the ability to give, receive and discuss information. It will put Cameron, Comfort and Moeller in direct contact with their audience. This is in contrast with a "Webcast," which has data traveling only one way and doesn't allow interaction between the presenter and the audience.

Living Waters and Open Doors USA will partner together to present the interactive seminar, "because few Christians in the U.S. are aware that an estimated 176,000 Christians were martyred from mid-2008 to mid-2009." So says Emeal Zwayne, the Executive Vice President of Living Waters. "It's so hard to believe that in this day and age so many Christians are losing their life for their faith. It's as though we in the U.S. live in a different world from the rest of the Body of Christ. We want to ask the question that is on a few people's lips--will persecution ever come to America? And if so, what can we do about it?"

Zwayne added, "We have been working closely with Open Doors USA to try and draw attention to the plight of the persecuted Church, because Scripture tells us to remember those who are persecuted for the sake of Christ. Open Doors is a wonderful organization, and together we want to do all we can to highlight this often forgotten cause.

The one hour video and audio Webinar discussion will be open to the public and registration is free of charge. It will take place from 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm (Pacific Daylight Time/International GMT: -7:00), this Thursday, April 22, 2010.
