Christian Newswire/ -- A new book:
A Little Heresy (Christianity Explained Briefly and Differently) is a short book for people who have questions about Christianity.
It is available on Amazon's Kindle (If you don't have a Kindle, there is a free download for most computers).
It only uses the word love once, when quoting John 3:16, and offers a 250 word overview, which has mostly been vetted by a Catholic priest and a pair of Protestant theologians.
This book also includes such topics as:
- Of course Jesus
- What about people who have never heard of Jesus?
- Hell & heaven
- Pride
- Why did God make us?
- Does God exist?
The book is solely the responsibility of Tom Ritter, who is a retired physics teacher and is among the last people that should be commenting on Christianity. He is not a big time Christian and is certainly no theologian. In fact he has read fewer than five books on Christianity.
But Ritter has some characteristics that are almost unique. He:
1. started as an agnostic.
2. has a very skeptical (scientific) attitude.
3. is laconic.
4. can explain complex subjects simply (He taught physics for over a decade).
5. writes very well.
And he is a reluctant Christian.
In short, Tom Ritter had to examine almost every aspect of Christianity logically and skeptically before he would accept it, and he can explain it simply and briefly in plain language.
