WASHINGTON, July 27, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- On the same day that U.S. and Chinese officials were holding a human rights dialogue in the nation's capital, ChinaAid celebrated its 10th anniversary with a seminar on human rights and the rule of law and an awards ceremony recognizing Chinese human rights lawyers and U.S. congressmen who have been at the forefront of the fight to protect human rights and bring about the rule of law in China.
The seminar on "Human Rights, Religious Freedom and the Rule of Law in China: A 10-year Review and Future Prospects" was followed by a noon luncheon award ceremony for ChinaAid's first "2012 Religious Freedom and Rule of Law Defenders Award" and "Defenders of Freedom in China Award." Both events took place on Capitol Hill on Tuesday (July 24) and were held in an atmosphere of unity, faith and hope.
