In February 1997, during the "dot com" explosion, Truepath launched as a software company. Truepath founder and current CEO, Gil Vidals, began the business venture with funding from his father. "The companies offering to buy me out were well funded start-ups, but eventually they went under," said Vidals. "I worried that would happen to our customers and didn't want the whole enterprise to flounder."
Vidals kept on with the business and has grown it without merging with another company.
