FREDERICKSBURG, Va., May 23, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- "Forgiven and Set Free" author and abortion-recovery facilitator, Linda Cochrane, RN, will be coming to Fredericksburg, Virginia to conduct a training seminar on counseling the woman or man dealing with the after effects of abortion. The Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center is sponsoring the training.

"All too often women—and men—suffer from the trauma of abortion and are too ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help," stated Denise Swett, executive director of the Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center. "With this training seminar, our goal is to help pastors, lay counselors, and anyone else wanting to learn more about helping those who need to be reached with the message that someone does care."

A Post-Abortion Healing and Recovery informational session is being offered June 17th from 12 noon-1:30 p.m. and will provide an overview of post-traumatic stress associated with abortion and ways to support those we know who may be dealing with this trauma. The cost for this session is $20 and includes the cost of lunch and materials.

The full-length, 2-day certification training is $30 for materials and includes the cost of lunch on Saturday. The 2-day seminar begins Friday, June 17th at 6:30 p.m. and will continue until 9:30 p.m. The session will resume on Saturday, June 18th beginning at 9 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m.

Both sessions will take place at Spotswood Baptist Church, located at 4009 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg. The sessions will take place in Spotswood's Encounter Building. Please RSVP for either one or both programs at 540.370.1800.
