The faith leaders feel it is important to come to Pastor Jones directly in Christian love and follow the teachings of the Bible, and share their concerns in a face to face conversation.

The Christian leaders will hold a news conference on Thursday, September 9 at 12:30 P.M. to discuss the proposed meeting.

The location will be at 109 2nd Street NE in Washington, D.C.
(Located right behind the Supreme Court.)

They will also have a news conference on Friday, September 10, at 12:30 P.M. in front of the Dove World Outreach Center at 5805 Northwest 37th Street in Gainesville, Florida.

The outreach is being sponsored by The Christian Defense Coalition, Faith and Action and Hillside Missions.

All three of these organizations have traveled extensively in the Muslim world and have met with Islamic political and religious leaders.

In a joint statement the organizations state:

"It is critical in any difficult or controversial situation to follow Biblical and Christian principles.  With respect to Pastor Jones, as Christians we are implored to follow the teachings of Matthew 18 and go to him in the spirit of Christian love and share our concerns face to face.

"Now is not the time for shouting in the press.  Rather, now is the time for prayer, candor, humility and face to face dialogue as we seek to resolve this situation in a Biblical manner."
