The 'You Can Play Project' Promotes Homosexuality in Professional Sports and at Universities
Contact: 4 WINDS, 608-469-7956

MADISON, Wis., Aug. 25, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The You Can Play Project is being pushed on professional teams and universities throughout the United States. The program is supposed to eliminate homophobia in sports.

Some of the many universities promoting the project include Duke, Georgetown, Louisiana State, Miami, Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA, and Wisconsin.

Universities supporting the project are encouraged to make videos endorsing homosexuality. The videos include athletic directors, coaches, and athletes. The videos are professionally done and are promoted by university athletic websites.

Steve McConkey, 4 WINDS President, is opposed to this project. 4 WINDS is a ministry working with all sports. Steve has been in sports ministries since 1981.

"As a Christian I believe homosexuality is a sin. Does that make me a bad person? Will athletes, coaches, and administrators promote other sins besides homosexuality?" says McConkey. "Athletes should be able to play in sports if they have the talent, but do we need to endorse a lifestyle contrary to the Bible?"

McConkey has a Masters of Public Health degree and went over the research trying to prove that homosexuality is inherited. Not one study proved this. The scientists came to the same conclusions.

"If homosexuality is not inherited, why does the media say that it is. Also, the media makes it look like half of the world is gay," says McConkey. "A recent poll showed that only 2.3% of U.S. adults were gay, lesbian or bisexual. This was the largest government poll ever. How is it that such a small number can influence the whole world with their agenda?"

Though homosexuality is a sin, there is hope. There is forgiveness for those involved in sin and are repentant. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins and asks that people receive Him as Savior. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

Steve McConkey is the President of the sports ministry 4 WINDS. Steve and his wife started working in world-class track and field ministries in 1981. 4 WINDS expanded to all sports in 2014. Ministry headquarters have been in Eugene (Oregon), Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas), Minneapolis-St. Paul (Minnesota), and now Madison (Wisconsin). Steve operates TrackandFieldReport.com and BigPlanetWatch.com. He has a Masters of Public Health from Western Kentucky University and a BS-Public Health from Minnesota State University.
