ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 12, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Operation Rescue has released the second in a series of 911 calls made over a recent 15-month period from Southwestern Women's Options, an abortion clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that reveals a botched first trimester abortion procedure that required emergency medical intervention.
The patient was a 30-year old woman who suffered "uterine bleeding", a sign of a possible punctured womb, which is a life-threatening abortion complication. The call was placed on November 3, 2010, at 12:42 PM.
The patient was transported to UNM Hospital, which ironically operates its own abortion clinic, the UNM Center for Reproductive Health, where another botched abortion nearly killed a woman in February, 2011. In that disturbing 911 recording, the patient can be heard groaning and struggling for life.
"New Mexico is the wild, wild west of the abortion industry. It has so little oversight that incidents like these are common place. Women who walk into an abortion clinic in New Mexico are playing what amounts to 'Russian Roulette' with their lives," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
Last week, Operation Rescue released the first of four 911 calls placed from Southwestern Women's Options between February, 2010, and May, 2011. That call indicated that SWO had just completed a second-trimester abortion on a 17-year old girl who suffered from a fever, a possible sign of infection, a rapid pulse, and uncontrolled bleeding.
Former Kansas late-term abortionists Shelley Sella and Susan Robinson are employees of SWO, which is owned by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd. It is believed that either Sella or Robinson was involved in the botched abortions.
Operation Rescue has filed complaints with the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners against all three SWO abortionists in an effort to hold them accountable for the botched abortion injuries that have landed four women in the emergency room.
Southwestern Women's Options was the site of a brutal beating that took place last week on peaceful pro-life activists by an angry abortion supporter. The attacker, Suzanne Cully, 54, has been charged with one count of battery and one count of aggravated battery.
Operation Rescue plans in the next few days to release two more disturbing 911 recordings from Southwestern Women's Options that document additional life-threatening abortion complications.
"We are demanding will all urgency that Southwestern Women's Options be closed immediately before they hurt or kill someone else," said Newman.
