WASHINGTON, July 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- While lamenting his passing this past week, Christian Legal Society celebrates the extraordinary life of one of CLS' pro-life heroes, Dr. Harold O. J. Brown.

"As the co-founder of the Christian Action Council (now Care Net), Dr. Brown inspired evangelicals to defend the sanctity of human life and laid the foundations for the network of more than 2000 pregnancy resource centers, who today so competently help women in crisis pregnancies all over this country." said CLS Director Samuel B. Casey.  "Dr. Brown's writings and lectures inspired us to start our Law of Life Project here at CLS. We will miss, but never forget Dr. Brown."

Harold O. J. Brown, an evangelical theologian known for his activism against abortion, died Sunday, July 8, after a brave fight with cancer. Brown's most prominent work was helping form and intellectually arm the pro-life movement. He was also a devoted professor and mentor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Reformed Theological Seminary, an ordained Congregationalist pastor, and a prominent writer in the evangelical movement.
