STATEN ISLAND, NY., Jan. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will receive the A.D. King Advancing the Culture of Life Award this evening in Atlanta. The award presentation will be part of a program honoring the late Rev. A.D. King, civil rights pioneer and brother to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"I am grateful to the A.D. King Foundation, and in particular to Mrs. Naomi King, to her daughter Alveda, and to Dr. Babs Onabanjo, for this award," said Fr. Pavone. "Rev. A.D. King and his family not only fought in the public arena for the equal rights of every human being, but they shaped their own choices in a way that welcomed life despite adversity."
Tonight's program at Atlanta's King Center Auditorium, part of the annual King Week Celebration, will also feature the new documentary film on the life and work of Rev. A.D. King, "Brother to the Dreamer: The Half that's Never Been Told." Longtime civil rights champion Dr. Otis Moss will give the evening's keynote address.
