ARLINGTON, Va., May 10, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Virginia Baptist State Convention, Inc. (The VBSC) to host hundreds of Baptist clergy, laymen and congregants from various churches during its 145th Annual Session in Richmond, Virginia May 14 - 17, 2012.

"Richmond will be buzzing with excitement next week and we're pleased that it all has to do with our 145th Annual Session. We've planned an extraordinary string of events, some of which are free and open to the public as our gift to the City of Richmond for hosting our historical event." -- said Dr. Leonard N. Highlights from the event include a free youth explosion showcasing local and statewide mime, liturgical and musical talent; a free concert featuring the vocals of world renowned actor, Reverend Clifton Davis and The VBSC Mass Choir, and a ticketed black tie banquet with keynote speaker Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson, Chairman of the Board of the National Action Network and guest artist Minister Merlon Devine, Gospel Saxophonist.

Dr. Leonard N. Smith, who serves as president, will give his final address and the convention will elect and install a new president.
