ESCONDIDO, Calif., Oct. 2, 2024 /Christian Newswire/ -- Former Air Force Captain and retired Army Major James F. Linzey, who honorably served in the Air Force and Army for 24 years and wrote the United States Space Force Hymn (Creator of the Universe), is one of the featured speakers for the Tuskegee Airmen Traveling Exhibit. The event will occur on October 6, 2024, at the Coffeyville Municipal Airport in Coffeyville, Kansas. The purpose of the entourage is to bring awareness of the contributions of Black Americans among the Tuskegee Airmen to the Allied victory in World War II and to give World War II experts an opportunity to provide a multifaceted presentation on the war.
Linzey's father, Captain Stanford E. Linzey, Jr., CHC, USN (Ret.), became a World War II hero as an enlisted sailor, for having served on the USS Yorktown, which was bombed, torpedoed, and sank at the Battle of Midway. His father wrote the book, USS Yorktown at Midway. Chaplain Linzey has given numerous speeches on the 'USS Yorktown at Midway' and his father's survival, intertwined with memories of the event from his mother, Dr. Verna Hall Linzey.
Dr. Linzey was given the title, 'Mother of the Fleet of the United States Navy,' from the Admiral Frederick C. Johnson, USN, and his staff of United States Marine Corps and Navy officers, for developing the largest Sunday School program of 100 students in the United States Navy at NAS Moffett Field, California, where her husband served as a chaplain there.
Chaplain Linzey was the keynote speaker for the National Prayer Breakfast at MCAS Miramar, former Home of Top Gun, in 2017, where he spoke on the 'USS Yorktown at Midway.' He has travelled to the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Pakistan, Mexico, Canada, and across the United States.
