Faith Based Crowdfunding Platform, Continue to Give, Allows Sweet Cakes by Melissa to Fundraise After Being Shut Down by GoFundMe

Contact: Jesse Wellhoefer, Continue to Give, 800-684-0550 ext 4

SCHOFIELD, Wis., May 6, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Continue to Give, a crowdfunding platform, has allowed Sweet Cakes by Melissa, AKA Christian bakers, to continue their fundraising efforts after being shut down by crowdfunding giant GoFundMe.

The Oregon bakery had refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple who later sued them. The publicity that followed caused the bakery to have to close. Friends of the couple started a GoFundMe page to help the family with the expense of having to defend their stance. GoFundMe later shut down the fundraiser after protests.

Continue to Give's founder Jesse Wellhoefer explains, "We are in the business of helping people help others.  Continue to Give is a fundraising platform that simply allows the community to decide who and what they support."

Continue to Give will let the "Help Sweet Cakes by Melissa" fundraiser continue to fundraise on their site at this time. In the last 48 hours over $2,000 has been donated to the cause.
