KATY, Texas, May 1, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Richard Capriola's book "A Nation Under Judgment" received a Reviewers Choice Award from Readers Views. The award was presented for the book's contribution to relationships and spirituality.

Capriola's book explores our nation's social polices from a Scriptural rather than a political point of view.

"A Nation Under Judgment" examines social policies such as hunger, poverty, income equality, marriage, and the environment. It also includes a chapter on how campaign contributions rather than the Bible influence lawmakers in shaping national policies.

"As we enter into another national political campaign and election cycle it's important that every Christian examine these issues from a Scriptural rather than a political point of view" Capriola said. "Looking at our nation's policies from God's point of view rather than a political agenda will help Christian voters hold office seekers accountable for their positions which too often are opposite from God's point of view."

Christian book reviews of "A Nation Under Judgment" have been impressive. Heather Randall, CEO of Christian Woman Affiliate said the book is "well researched and Scripturally based." Another Christian reviewer commented "Every legislator, every believer, apologetic, preacher and evangelist needs this resource on their shelves."

Capriola believes many Christians believe our nation is moving away from God when constructing national policies. "If we continue down this road are we setting ourselves up for judgment?" he asks.

"If Christians take the time to read 'A Nation Under Judgment' and review the facts, I think it will confirm what many already suspect - that we are a nation moving away from God."

"A Nation Under Judgment" is available in e-book format for $2.99 at Amazon and Book Baby.com. It was originally published by Mill City Press.

Richard Capriola spent many years as a hospital chaplain. He completed four years of Clinical Pastoral Education in preparation for becoming a chaplain. He has also led a church based outreach ministry and has served as a mental health counselor at both a regional crisis center and psychiatric hospital.
