GREENSBORO, NC, Dec. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- Under the leadership of President Karen Jacklin and CEO Mark Teears, New Growth Press publishes books, booklets and curriculum that effectively meet the needs of readers in the self-help and inspirational genres. The company, formerly known as Punch Press, is the official publisher for the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF), an organization that provides Bible-based counseling for individuals and equips counselors with academic training, conferences, church support and publications. New Growth also works with credentialed authors outside the realm of CCEF.
Karen Jacklin left a successful career with a secular newspaper after experiencing a period of burnout. The invitation to join New Growth (then Punch Press) as president offered her the opportunity to use her publishing experience to produce meaningful material designed to help the hurting. Fueled by a passion to see the company reach its full potential, Karen and Mark Teears, her husband-to-be, assumed full ownership and control of Punch Press in August 2006, renaming it New Growth Press.
“Our authors confront the issues considered untouchable in some Christian circles,” states Jacklin. “We offer Biblical perspectives on these hard issues. The goal of our authors is to assist suffering people as they navigate the storms of life, encouraging them to experience ‘new growth’ along the way.” Besides book titles, New Growth has published a series of subject-specific booklets for CCEF addressing difficult topics, including After Adultery, Conflict, and Grief—Finding Hope Again.
New Growth utilizes authors from varying Christian backgrounds, including Graham Cooke, Marilyn Jeffcoat, author of I Can, and David Powlison, whose Speaking Truth in Love was released last November. Upcoming releases include Relationships: A Mess Worth Making by Tim Lane and Paul Tripp and Caught Off Guard by William Smith. New Growth also plans to re-release Ed Welch’s Depression: A Stubborn Darkness. For more information or to order any of New Growth’s titles, please visit http://newgrowthpress.com.
