ATLANTA, April 28, 2023 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Dr. Alveda King, she is available for comment:
The first quarter of 2023 is history. Into the second quarter now, and we are almost done with April. Soon it will be half time. Amazingly, time seems to be accelerating and the months, days and hours are slipping away so quickly. Looking back from the year's onset, let's review some amazing occurrences.
January 2023 The world celebrated the 94th Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; while anticipating the August 28, 60th Anniversary of his famous I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH.
We released an Open Letter to America, The Beloved Community and The American Dream. Click here to add your signature to the letter and support us in prayer.
Over at Alveda King Ministries, we helped some friends release a new record; LIVING COLORS; celebrating God's creation.
For the first time since 1973, America and the world observed, celebrated and recharged for life at the first anniversary of a post Roe nation. Thousands of advocates convened in Washington, DC to pray, MARCH FOR LIFE, and organize for the next round of efforts to protect not just babies in the womb, but also mothers, parents, states, communities and human dignity; from the womb to the tomb and beyond.
February 2023 At the AFPI Center for The American Dream, of which I am Chairman, in recognition of Black History Month, we launched a music video THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM as we encouraged America to advance the vision of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all Americans, in every generation.
March 2023 We celebrated Women's History Month with highlights of accomplishments of notable women, She Leads America and released a new open letter. Please click here to sign on and encourage our Faith Leaders in this Open Letter in support of our nation's children.
April 2023 Atlanta's newest and much anticipated maternity resource home, AUNTIE ANGIE'S HOUSE, founded by Angela Stanton King, is now open for service. Prayers and support are very much appreciated.
Our take on Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr.'s mantra for Atlanta - "The city too busy to hate..." was revisited in our latest open letter to Commissioner Bridget Thorne. Sign on here.
Always the pioneer, yours truly took a new deep dive into a "reverse-mentoring" program; with a brilliant and delightful 20 year old mentor. More to come on this.
We also covered an "old school" song with a timeless message: IF I COULD.
...and Looking Ahead Mothers Day, school graduations, Fathers Day, Juneteenth and Independence Day are just around the corner. In anticipation, we are praying for repentance, revival and reconciliation to sweep across the nation and around the world.
Coming Soon, She Leads Georgia.
In the coming weeks and months, we will be releasing singles of our latest songs on popular streaming services and on CD for sale at our Online Store.
Be on the lookout! May God bless us to turn away from worshipping idols, political strife and everything that divides God's one blood human race.
Until next time, God bless you.
Our ministry is funded by generous individuals like yourself. We have many ongoing projects that help us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a world much in need of His message. Please consider making a tax deductible contribution to Alveda King Ministries.
