Testimony of Abortion Coercion at Legislative Hearing Reveals Two Big Lies about 'Reproductive Choice' Say 'Silent No More' Leaders

STATEN ISLAND, New York, Sept. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- New testimony presented before a Kansas legislative committee reveals two myths about reproductive choice say the leaders of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, the nation's largest network of women and men harmed by abortion.

The testimony was that of Michelle Arnesto-Berg, who told Kansas legislators in hearings Friday that when she was 18 years old, not only was she intimidated into having a late-term abortion by her parents, but also that workers at the clinic of abortionist George Tiller killed her baby before she even signed a consent form.

"'Choice' is such a contemptible word when applied to abortion," said Janet Morana, co-founder of SNMAC.  "This young woman, like so many others, had abortion chosen for her by others.  Did the abortion clinic stop to see if she really wanted the abortion?  Of course not; the abortion industry only sees pregnant women as profit targets."

"This woman's story is neither unusual nor surprising," added Georgette Forney, also a co-founder of SNMAC.    "We know from many, many other testimonies that, first, lots of women get abortions because other people want them to and, second, abortion clinics are not interested in offering women choices.  Counseling at these clinics amounts to abortion sales pitches.  That's not 'choice,' that's exploitation."
