Helping Orphans in Kenya, a San Diego Church Sends 40 Foot Container of Supplies and Team of Volunteers

SAN DIEGO, April 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- A team of adults and high school students from Rancho Bernardo Baptist Church in San Diego will be traveling to Kenya, Africa to care for children orphaned by AIDS. The team will be helping to build an orphan school, teaching AIDS awareness in the public schools and caring for children living in orphanages. They will also be sending a 40 foot container filled with desperately needed school supplies, personal care items, sports equipment, clothing and construction materials. Their mission is to provide encouragement and practical support to the children of Kenya.

On Saturday, May 12th, a Kenya Orphan Donation Day will be sponsored by Rancho Bernardo Baptist Church from 8:00am to noon, at 11616 Duenda Road, San Diego; CA. Items may be brought directly to the church on May 12th or mailed for receipt prior to May 12th. All donations are tax-deductible and receipts will be provided.

It is estimated that there more than 15 million AIDS-related orphans in Africa. Due to the AIDS epidemic, these children are struggling for the basics of food, shelter and healthcare. You can help. A list of needed items is available on the church website at http://www.rbbaptist.org/kenya.htm. Monetary donations are also needed to cover the cost of shipping the container overseas.
