MEDIA ADVISORY, April 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- Promise Keepers, the international ministry to men, presents its second cinema and community service event, PKAdventure, in 15 cities on Saturday morning, April 12, 2008. In this second edition of PKAdventure, thousands of men will be mobilized to gather locally for a video event, then impact their communities through community service. The program will be distributed live in four time zones through a national digital theater network and church satellite network.
The event begins at 8:00 a.m. local time with a 90-minute digital cinema production featuring Dr. Del Tackett from Focus on the Family's Truth Project, the dramatic story of six men trying to sustain a men's Bible study, actor Alan Autry (TV's "In the Heat of the Night," "The Legend of Jake Kincaid"), and big screen worship with PK7. The emcee is Pastor Matt Uldrich of Tucson, Ariz.
Following the digital video, teams of men will disperse to a wide variety of community service projects. Efforts around the nation include building a youth camp, a barn-raising, park clean up, community barbecues and block parties, house painting and building renovation, food drives, blood drives, clothing drives, and more.
"Promise Keepers helps men connect with God and each other, whether we're in theaters, arenas, at work, at home, at play or at church." said Dr. Tom Fortson, president and CEO of Promise Keepers. "We've got a creative presentation on the foundational truths of Christianity that men can relate to, without being trite, and without easy answers. Further, men always grow in faith when they help others in the community."
Details on theaters and community service projects, as well as registration are available online at www.promisekeepers.org/pkadventure, or by calling toll-free, 1-866-PROMISE (866-776-6473). PKAdventure is a trademark of Promise Keepers, a Colorado nonprofit corporation.
