GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., July 5, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Kregel Publications is proud to announce that two of their titles have received the 2010 Book of the Year Award from ForeWord Magazine.
"When a Man You Love Was Abused", by New York Times best-selling author Cecil Murphey, received the Bronze award in the Family & Relationships category. The inspirational book, largely influenced by the author's own experiences, offers help and hope to women who know and love a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.
Additionally, "A Season of Miracles" by Rusty Whitener was awarded the Gold award in the Fiction-Religious category. The novel, which looks back on Zack Ross's life-changing 1971 Little League season, is scheduled to start film production this fall.
Awarded at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans, the Book of the Year Awards (www.bookoftheyearawards.com) were given to 215 winners, in 60 different publishing categories, after undergoing a year-long judging process by a panel of librarians and booksellers. According to ForeWord Reviews, the honored books represent the best independently published books from 2010.
