LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 /Christian Newswire/ -- A fascinating new feature film is sweeping the nation...and the globe. The Cross-The Arthur Blessitt Story which opens nationwide on March 27th, is the must-see, powerfully moving story of the spirited, uniquely fascinating man of faith who spent four decades carrying a twelve-foot wooden cross to 315 nations around the world. Why? To share the love of Christ with everyone he met.

Arthur Blessitt is scheduled to appear as a guest on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world's largest faith and family friendly network, on January 22nd.  Paul Crouch Jr., TBN's Chief of Staff and the eldest son of senior TBN founders Paul and Jan Crouch, will host and interview Blessitt on the popular series, Behind the Scenes, seen Monday through Friday. Blessitt will also appear on TBN's flagship production, Praise the Lord, on the same day, with guest host Matthew and Laurie Crouch. Matthew Crouch, the youngest son of Paul and Jan Crouch, is the director and producer of The Cross.

"TBN viewers have come to expect thought-provoking, well-written, and spiritually-charged programming that entertains and positively influences lives around the globe," says Crouch, Jr.  "That's why I'm very excited about the opportunity to interview Arthur Blessitt, and unveil his unique story to TBN audiences worldwide."

While journeying with his cross, Blessitt met thousands of people from all walks of life. He also survived incredible trials through fifty-two war zones, firing squads, beatings, and deadly jungles. In 1982, Blessitt marched alone through five fighting armies into West Beirut to pray for Yassir Arafat. His experience was covered live by CNN's Peter Arnet.

"Too often, religion has caused the cross to become a symbol of conflict around the world," explains Blessitt. "But it's part of my life's mission to reinterpret the meaning of the cross for people so they can see that the cross is not something that's against them, but the ultimate symbol of God's love."

TBN's Behind the Scenes series is scheduled to air: 5:00PM - 5:30PM on January 22nd and 10:00AM - 10:30AM on January 23rd. TBN's Praise the Lord program is scheduled to air: 7:00PM - 9:00PM on January 22nd and 2:00PM - 4:00PM on January 23rd. Times listed are Pacific.
