MANCHESTER, New Hampshire, Jan. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- Presidential candidates have been invited to attend a prayer vigil on the eve of the New Hampshire Presidential Primary. The prayer vigil will be non-partisan and all the Republican and Democrat Presidential candidates were invited.
(See a copy of the invitation that was sent to all the candidates.)
During the evening, each candidate will be prayed for individually.
As stated in the invitation, prayer will be offered, "...to give the candidates wisdom, guidance, courage and faith."
The prayer vigil will be held Sunday, January 6, at 6:00 P.M., at The First Assembly of God Church in Auburn, New Hampshire. Hundreds are expected to attend.
The address is 45 Myles Drive in Auburn.
The prayer vigil is being sponsored by local and national faith and values organizations along with First Assembly.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition and one of the organizers comments, "America stands on the eve of electing the next President of the United States. The decisions that the President makes will impact our nation for generations to come as well as influence events on the world stage.
"In light of the enormity of this election, it is critical that we humble ourselves and look to God for guidance and direction for the future of our nation. As the Psalmist declared centuries ago, 'Unless the Lord builds the house, our labor is in vain.'
"Throughout our nation's history, America has always turned to God in prayer when facing critical decisions and times of crisis. As the Presidential Primary season begins in New Hampshire, we will not begin with a large political rally. Rather, we will begin this historic week on our knees humbly asking for God's intervention."
