Mayor Copeland Welcomes National Pro-Life Conference to Olathe; Local Residents Invited to Attend

Contact: Michael Davidson, 913-764-2225

OLATHE, Kan., July 10, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- On July 16th through 18th, hundreds of prolife Christians from across the nation will gather in the city of Olathe for the first time national conference, For the Life of the World 2014 -- a three day event geared toward Christian unity, life-affirming education, and pro-life outreach within the community.

Mayor Michael Copeland will start the conference off with a personal welcome on Wednesday, July 16th, at 7 PM in the Ball Conference Center, followed by an address from Archbishop Craig Bates, world leader of the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (ICCEC).

The ICCEC, a denomination which actually began in the pro-life movement over 20 years ago, created For the Life of the World to effectively draw together distinctive and diverse voices within the American pro-life movement, including:

Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life
Ryan Bomberger of The Radiance Foundation
Archbishop Craig Bates of the ICCEC
    Troy Newman of Operation Rescue
Janet Morana of Silent No More
Star Parker of Center for Urban Renewal and Education
Fr. Terry Gensemer of Charismatic Episcopal Church For Life
Bryan Kemper of Stand True ProLife Outreach
    and Kristina Garza of Survivors

These leaders will not only offer three days of intense sessions on the most current pro-life issues, but they will also demonstrate public pro-life outreach by conducting a citywide prayer vigil on Friday, July 18th, at 8 AM, in front of the Planned Parenthood located in Overland Park. All pro-life citizens of Olathe are invited to attend.

Bishop Michael Davidson, local pastor of Cathedral Church of the King and main coordinator for the event comments, "We organized this conference -- from the teaching to the fellowship to the public pro-life witness at Planned Parenthood -- to equip every Christian who believes in the sanctity of life with the tools and knowledge necessary to translate faith and conviction into effective action. Though my denomination is sponsoring these activities, we do so in hopes that every pro-life Christian of every creed can join us for these three days of incredible pro-life training."

Though there is a $75 registration fee to attend all three days of this conference, local Olathe residents may attend evening sessions free of charge, and may also purchase $30 one-day passes on-site to participate in the full day of activities for Thursday or Friday.
