KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 12, 2024 /Christian Newswire/ -- When lifelong Kansas City Chiefs’ fan, Ed Van Buskirk, saw Hallow’s 30-second Super Bowl commercial he was overjoyed. “It was inspiring that millions were invited to stop and turn their focus to God, as we approach the holy season of Lent. As thrilling as it is that my Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl two years in a row, I consider turning America’s focus back to God the greatest of all victories yesterday.” Van Buskirk is founder of If U Love Me, who is on a mission to restore God’s Ten Commandments where he says, “Our culture has hit an all-time low, both morally and spiritually.”

“Putting God in his rightful place on The Lord’s Day, brings forth God’s First and Third Commandments. For nearly everyone, the outcome of a football game has little to no impact on our lives. However, if we are intentional about putting our relationship with God first, we have the potential for eternal joy. Sports are an important part of our culture, but sometimes people get so caught up in them that sports become a ‘strange god’, pushing the One-True-God off to the sidelines,” says Van Buskirk.

Van Buskirk explains, “I am hopeful that the pendulum seems to be slowing swinging back to God amidst our ‘Godless’ culture with stories like Alabama’s effort to restore The Commandments to their rightful place of honor, and such successes as the Hallow and Bible in a Year apps.”

“Touchdowns in the real game of life are in the quiet moments in prayer with God, where we see His plan for our lives and we learn to trust in Him, no matter the circumstances. It is where we find and embrace God’s mercy. It is where our hardened hearts are melted, and how relationships and marriages and world peace is restored.”

When Van Buskirk received the endorsement from his bishop to restore the Ten Commandments in every classroom and church in his diocese, he knew he made the right decision of selling his successful tech business in 2017 and creating “God’s Recipe for a Wonderful Life” and “God’s Recipe for School and Family” programs.

“Lent is the perfect time to turn our focus back to God. Our souls need it, our country needs it, and the world needs it. Not only does God win, but everybody wins.”

Ed Van Buskirk is available for interviews and speaking engagements.
