COLUMBUS, Georgia, Nov. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Georgia-based humanitarian-aid organization Hopegivers International today announced its first partnering recording artist: Meredith Andrews, whom Billboard magazine tapped as Christian music's most promising new artist in its annual "Faces to Watch" list.
As a partnering artist, the highly acclaimed Andrews will share the mission of Hopegivers at her live concert events, encouraging those in attendance to support the organization's work to rescue orphaned children in India, Haiti, and Africa, and to provide them with ongoing care that includes food, clean water, shelter, clothing, medical treatments, and an education.
"We are incredibly blessed to have Meredith as a ministry partner," said Dr. M.A. Thomas, founder of Hopegivers. "Her desire to aid orphans and children in need and her undeniable talent make her a powerful partner for our ministry and the work we are doing to advance God’s kingdom."
Andrews first learned of Hopegivers' work while on a foreign mission trip to India with a group of fellow students from Liberty University. Her experience at the Hopegivers-sponsored Hope Home orphanages prompted her to make a return visit the following Christmas and then subsequently commit to a ministry partnership with the organization.
"These orphanages are absolutely teeming with life," Andrews said. "These are the happiest, most vibrant, most joyful kids I have ever met in my life. They know what it is to experience hunger, cold, disease, persecution, and even death - but they know even more the reality of having their prayers answered by God."
Andrews is poised to significantly impact a national and international audience with the release of The Invitation, her debut album on Word Records.
