Family Institute of Connecticut Action to Hold Press Conference to Launch 2007 Protect Marriage Campaign

Contact: Brian S. Brown, Family Institute of Connecticut Action, President, 860-548-0066

HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- FIC Action will hold a press conference in room 1C of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford on Wednesday, January 31st at 10:00 a.m. to oppose the forthcoming same-sex "marriage" bill and to call for a non-binding referendum on a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

FIC Action President Brian S. Brown will be joined by a bipartisan group of legislative leaders including State Senate Minority Leader Louis DeLuca, State Representatives T.R. Rowe, Al Adinolfi, David Aldarondo, Anthony D'Amelio, Richard Ferrari, Selim Noujaim and others to lay out the case for why the protection of marriage—society's most important social institution—is an issue that should be decided by the people, not the politicians or the courts.

FIC Action president Brian S. Brown stated, "The people of Connecticut clearly oppose same-sex 'marriage' legislation and Gov. Rell has said she will veto it. But activists working against the public interest continue to waste our legislators' time with this issue. This issue must be resolved by the people. Our legislators should stand up and let the people decide the future of marriage."
