WASHINGTON, June 23, 2023 /Christian Newswire/ -- The "Make Abortion Unthinkable Prayer and Worship Rally" will take place on Saturday, June 24, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

The exact location is the west side of the Capitol at Union Square between the President Grant statue and the reflecting pool.

The rally is being organized by Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution which is based in Washington, D.C.  It is a women's advocacy and educational group that works on issues of human rights and justice which empower and inspire women. It is affiliated with Stanton Healthcare which has life-affirming women's health clinics in America and internationally.

Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of Stanton Healthcare, comments:

"We are so thankful that Roe v. Wade was overturned, ending a Constitutional right to abortion. However, the pro-life movement realizes it was only a starting line and not a finish line. While Roe was overturned by the Supreme Court, it was not overturned in culture or our nation's institutions.

"One year later, we are coming to the United States Capitol to pray that America will embrace equal justice and human rights for all and end the violence of abortion. We are asking God to unite us as a nation that passionately supports and stands with women as we work to make abortion unthinkable."

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Chief Strategy Officer for Stanton Public Policy Center, states:

"The goal of the pro-life movement was not just to overturn Roe v. Wade. Rather, it was to ensure equal rights and justice for the most vulnerable in our society who have no voice for themselves – that is, the 63,000,000 children who have died from abortion violence. In other words, we want to make abortion unthinkable and end up on the scrapheap of history like chattel slavery and segregation.

"We realize the pro-life movement is at a 'hinge moment' in American history and we are only one national election away from seeing abortion codified. As we gather to pray to at the US Capitol, we will be asking God to guide the members of Congress to support legislation that protects human rights for all."
