300 West Michigan churches are joining together for a special event on March 1 featuring award-winning musical guests and popular Christian authors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Feb. 8, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- The RE:NEW Gathering on March 1 is expected to host thousands of people for a special night of inspiration, prayer, worship, and unity as more than 300 local churches prepare for a special season of outreach and service.

Led by international evangelist Andrew Palau, this event will also include award-winning musical artist Phil Wickham and New York Times best-selling author and speaker Francis Chan. Chan was just added to the program this week after Luis Palau asked him to stand in his place.

Palau was recently diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and in undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Portland, Oregon.

"It's going to be a powerful night of unity for the local believers," said Luis Palau. "Francis, Phil, and Andrew will encourage, inspire, and bless the thousands of Christians gathering together in excitement and preparation for CityFest West Michigan this summer. With already nearly 300 churches committed to support and serve the region through CityFest West Michigan, the RE:NEW Gathering is sure to be an event of unprecedented influence and unity for local Christians.

The festival – known as CityFest West Michigan – is part of a larger, global effort to share the Good News with millions of individuals and thousands of cities between now and 2020.
