Contact: Col. Jimmie Dean Coy, 573-819-7775

COLUMBIA, Mo., Sept. 8, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Those Who Serve is a devotional for those who serve our great nation. At the core of this book are the themes of faith, family, and freedom. It includes personal life stories from the author as well as thirty-three stories from Medal of Honor recipients and ex-POWs from our country's major conflicts. Some of their stories are told in the inspiring DVD, which is included with the book. The author also uses examples of military insignia and badges to connect military history with pertinent scriptures. It's designed to be a resource for military chaplains, all those in uniform, as well as all veterans.

Two of the sections of the book include advice for life and stories of American heroes who served in harm's way. These individuals offer practical and spiritual wisdom for life. Much of their wisdom was forged during combat and in the burning fire of adversity, pain, suffering, sorrow, sadness, and death. Those Who Serve includes the photos of all the contributors featured in this book as well as images of various military insignia.

Col. Leo Thorsness, USAF (Ret.) MOH, Vietnam shares, "I have been blessed to know Jim Coy many years. This book combines service to the Lord and to the nation and makes it easy to share and encourage a faith in God. The book is a great resource for all who have a love of God and nation." Brig. Gen. Robbie Risner, USAF (Ret), Korean War Ace, Ex-POW, Vietnam adds, "Any book written by this red, white, and blue Christian will make a powerful impact on the reader. Everyone who reads it will experience a renewed awareness of what makes America the greatest nation in the world."

Those Who Serve -- A Devotional for the Military is the fourth book in "The Gathering of Eagles" series. It follows A Gathering of Eagles, Prisoners of Hope, and Valor. He served as a medical consultant for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command and with the Army Special Forces. Coy has received numerous military honors.
