SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., May 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- A new publishing company called BibleRhymes is taking a unique approach to teaching Bible stories to children. With distinct art and poetry that kids can relate to, they’re developing a series of books that they hope will plant lasting affections for the Bible.

The first book in the series is called BibleRhymes' Creation.

"We want to give children Biblical storybooks that they'll remember in twenty or thirty years, and a quality book that will last that long," says Ken McCardell, author of the BibleRhymes series. "We want our stories captivating for children, while remaining Biblically accurate, and from parent and pastor responses, I think we're reaching our goals."

The hardcover version isn't the only news, though. Perhaps unique in the world of children's books, BibleRhymes has released a full version of the story as a free e-book with digitally turning pages. Readers can download it at www.BibleRhymes.com.

McCardell explains that the key to BibleRhymes' success in a crowded market will come from offering exceptional art, developing poems that children love listening to, and choosing only the highest-quality materials for their books.

"I know we're on the right track," he says, "when I show the pictures to the neighborhood kids and see their eyes light up."

The first BibleRhymes book tells the story of creation with verses like these:

Whispering graces,
God turned on His light.
Dark went in hiding,
the world turning bright.

The dark He called night,
the light He called day
For joyful, young children
to go out and play.

Underscoring the book's fun-loving approach to a Biblical story, these verses are illustrated with a transparent hand turning on the sun with a pull-chain normally used for light bulbs.
