WASHINGTON, April 22, 2024 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Biden Administration is attempting to expand abortion through federal regulations which would turn Idaho’s emergency rooms into abortion clinics.

President Biden is asking the Supreme Court to allow the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to issue federal guidelines stating that the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act takes precedence over Idaho’s “Defense of Life Act.”

Idaho’s “Defense of Life Act” was passed through the strong support of clients, medical professionals and advocates from Stanton Healthcare who have worked passionately to end abortion violence in Idaho and ensure women were protected from abortion abuse.

Stanton Healthcare is a women's healthcare clinic which specializes in serving women with unexpected pregnancies by providing professional medical care, practical and emotional support, women's wellness care and a special outreach to refugee and marginalized communities. Stanton Healthcare is based in Idaho with affiliates in the U.S. and internationally.

Linda Thomas, Stanton's Director of Community Outreach, shares:

“The clients, medical professionals and advocates of Stanton Healthcare were proud to testify in support of Idaho’s ‘Defense of Life Act’ to protect women and their preborn children from abortion abuse.

“We are thankful to the Idaho legislature and governor for listening to the voices of those most impacted by the pressure to have an unwanted abortion -- the women of Idaho themselves.

“The citizens of Idaho do not want the Biden administration’s interference in the laws we have passed to build a wall of protection around women and their preborn children.”

Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of Stanton Healthcare, states:

“It is critical to understand the ‘Defense of Life Act,’ which the Biden Administration is trying to override, was passed into law through the strong voices and stories from the clients, medical professionals and advocates of Stanton Healthcare.

“Strong and empowered power went passionately to the Idaho State Capitol to work for an end to abortion violence and ensure women were protected from abortion abuse.

“It is deeply troubling to see President Biden ignore and disrespect the voices of Idaho’s women as he attempts to advance a radical abortion agenda through federal regulations.

“The Dobbs decision made it clear there is no federal or constitutional right to abortion. Our hope and prayer is the Supreme Court will respect the rights of Idaho’s citizens and not allow our emergency rooms to be turned into abortion clinics and expand abortion violence by the federal government.”
