WASHINGTON, April 1, 2019 /Christian Newswire/ -- Pro-life and free speech activists to hold protest and news conference in front of Twitter Washington, D.C. corporate office.

The event will be held on Tuesday, April 2, at 2:00 P.M., located at 800 Connecticut Ave. NW in Washington, D.C.

The protest is in response to Twitter's censorship and blatant violation of their corporate values toward the film "Unplanned." Here are two examples:

              Twitter suspended the "Unplannedmovie" account on the evening of the film's nationwide opening. Twitter said it was because the "Unplanned" account was linked to some other account which is simply not true. "Unplanned" has only one account so any linking had to be done by Twitter personnel.

              The "Unplannedmovie" account went from over 100,000 followers to just 151 yesterday. People looking to follow "Unplanned" were immediately dropped from the system.

Participants then plan to speak with members of Congress and the White House regarding Twitter's actions.

The event is being sponsored by the Washington, D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition, which is a faith based human rights and free speech organization committed to sharing the principles of justice in the public square.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states;

"On their corporate website, Twitter says their values are; 'We believe in free expression and think every voice has the power to impact the world.' That is simply not true. After their treatment of the film 'Unplanned' and others, it is clear they are only interested in hearing ONE voice. Those who share left leaning views.

"Twitter then goes on to falsely state, 'We are transparent about our political activity and contributions.' Twitter is one of the least transparent and open corporations in America as their clearly deceive the American public daily into believing they embrace all perspectives and values.

"Their response to the film, 'Unplanned,' clearly shows the America public needs to rise up and speak out that Twitter must do better."

Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of The Stanton Public Policy Center and Stanton Healthcare, adds;

"It is an outrage how Twitter has treated the film, 'Unplanned,' and violated their corporate values in the process. It is now apparent that Twitter is not a forum and free marketplace of diverse values and opinions but rather a mouthpiece of only voices they agree with.

"Every American who cherishes free and open speech should be speaking out against the manipulation of Twitter and their misleading the public on how they operate as a corporation. We will be sharing our concerns with members of congress and the White House and exploring avenues to hold Twitter accountable."
