MONTGOMERY, Ala., March 28, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Foundation for Moral today filed a proposed amicus (friend-of-the-court) brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia supporting the right of Jeryl Turco, a sidewalk counselor in Englewood, New Jersey, to talk with abortion-bound women without having to navigate a maze of no-entry zones on the sidewalk in front of the local abortion mill.

Foundation President Kayla Moore explained: "An Englewood city ordinance has created a web of no-entrance zones that hinder pro-life counseling on the sidewalk in front of the local abortion mill. Meanwhile, abortion-favoring 'escorts,' known colloquially as 'deathscorts,' may ignore the zones and roam free on the sidewalk."

Foundation Counsel Martin Wishnatsky added: "Only pro-life counselors have to respect the no-go zones. The exception in the ordinance for abortion workers and agents slants the playing field in favor of pro-abortion speech. The federal district court in New Jersey found the ordinance unconstitutional. We are urging the Third Circuit to do the same."
