NASHVILLE, Oct. 15, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ready for blast off, Phil Vischer, creator of "VeggieTales®" and "What's In The Bible?," this week released his much-anticipated new video, his first narrative tale in nearly a decade - "Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9."

The new film is exclusively available now on Jelly Telly, an online content streaming platform of shows and movies to teach kids about God, the Bible and faith; the "Galaxy Buck" DVD will be purchasable October 20 in all Christian retail outlets as well as Amazon and Walmart.

Featuring Vischer's lovable and familiar characters from the bestselling video series, "Buck Denver Asks® … What's in the Bible?," "Mission to Sector 9" shares their adventure as they take the good news about God's love to the far reaches of the galaxy.

"The purpose of Galaxy Buck is to teach kids what walking with Jesus actually looks like," said Vischer. "'What's In The Bible?' taught the tenets of our faith, now we're going to show kids faith in action."

"Mission to Sector 9" starts at the Galactic Mission Board, whose purpose is to share God's love with the entire galaxy. As an employee of the Galactic Mission Board, Buck Denver's job is to answer the helpline but he wants to do something more - something really big for God. When Buck and his friends find themselves tasked with an important mission, they set off on a quest that teaches them valuable lessons about walking with God.

"Galaxy Buck was kind of inspired by the 19th century British missions movement, of Livingston and Hudson Taylor and those guys going places no one else had gone before to carry the love of God," said Vischer in a recent interview.

"The church," Vischer continued, "tends to underestimate what kids are capable of learning about their faith."

Vischer wants to make sure that through Galaxy Buck kids and families take away the knowledge that their relationship with God should always come first. "More important that what you do for Him is that you live for Him, you walk with Him," said Vischer.

"Galaxy Buck" is produced by Vischer's studio Jellyfish Labs in partnership with Creative Trust, which previously collaborated on the successful "What's in the Bible?" series. For more information and a sneak peek of the series, visit www.GalaxyBuck.net.
