LA MIRADA, CALIF. July 3, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- A recent census has shown a decline of Christianity in London over the last decade. Less than six in 10 participants now identify Christianity as their religion with an increase in those who reported "no religion." To confront the decline of Christianity in Britain, Premier Christian Media is partnering with Southern California's Biola University for a one-day Christian apologetics conference on July 12, 2014 in London.

"Evidence, science, history, good reasoning and the very best scholarship points to the truth of the gospel and the biblical view of the world," said Craig Hazen, founder and director of Biola's Master of Arts program in Christian Apologetics. "It is our job to point this out, to make the case for Christ in a skeptical age."

The event, "Unbelieveable? Reasonable Faith in an Uncertain World," will equip Christians with knowledge and confidence to provide strong answers to the many tough questions that arise in faith conversations. Hosted by Premier's Justin Brierley, the conference will feature world-renowned speakers and apologists such as William Lane Craig, Os Guinness, Tanya Walker and Craig Hazen.

"Our goal in presenting an apologetics conference right in the heart of London is to simply do what the Apostle Peter commanded us to do in 1 Peter 3:15, 'Be prepared always to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,'" said Hazen.

Twelve seminars will be offered throughout the day covering four categories: Jesus and the gospel, reasonable faith, hard questions of Christianity, and outreach. According to Hazen, it is essential for Christian universities to be involved in equipping those outside the academy to be able to defend Christianity. While this is the first time Biola's Christian apologetics program will partner with Premier, Biola has been hosting apologetics events and conferences across the world for 17 years.

The conference will take place at Methodist Central Hall in Westminster, London, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. General tickets will be sold at £35 and student tickets at £25.
